Brian O'Callaghan has admitted that he would love to join up with former boss Gudjon Thordarson at Notts County.

The 24-year-old midfielder (pictured) is keen to return to The Football League after recently plying his trade with Conference North club Worksop Town.

O'Callaghan played previously under Thordarson at League One side Barnsley and a move to Meadow Lane would suit the Irishman.

"I have stayed in contact with Gudjon, but not spoken to him for a while," O'Callaghan told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"I have left Worksop and I am looking to get back into League football at the moment.

"He is a great manager and I would love to link up with him again."

Despite claims from Worksop that the midfielder had signed for The Magpies, Thordarson denied that any move had been made to bring him to the Midlands club.

"I have not signed Brian," stressed Thordarson. "I did work with him at Barnsley and did have him over in Iceland when I was in charge at Keflavik, and I know he is trying to make it again in English football.

"Obviously I know about Brian, but there is certainly nothing to report in terms of signing the player."
