Ainsworth to keep small squad

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth admits he will be limited in the transfer market this summer following Steven Craig's departure.

The 34-year-old striker was released by the Chairboys after two seasons with the club, leaving Ainsworth with a playing staff of just 14 players. He is looking to bring names in, but concedes it may be difficult and is likely to keep to a small squad. Ainsworth said in Get Bucks: "We've lost certain players and been in touch with players. I've got no idea how many we will get in, but it will be a small squad again. "You need 11 players and seven subs, so that's a good starting point. There are holes, and we've only got one centre-back, so there's obviously a need there. "Multi-positional players will be important again, it's what we are and what we do. We'll be the guys with a tiny budget upsetting people once more, and I'm glad we've kept that tag."
