Stewart hails Chairboys fans

Wycombe defender Anthony Stewart has paid tribute to the club's away supporters after his goal clinched a 2-0 victory at Exeter.

Stewart's fine back-post header helped the Chairboys pick up their second victory in four days which ended City's unbeaten start to the season at St James Park. And the centre-back joined his team-mates in racing to celebrate with the 57 away fans who made the 430-mile round-trip. "It is always great to celebrate a goal with the fans, no matter how many of them are there," he said. "So a huge thank you to them for coming. It's a long way to come on a Tuesday night so thanks to them. "I'd been ill for the last couple of days and only trained on Monday so I didn't think I'd be starting and it was great to get that second goal which we really needed as we'd been under the cosh for a few minutes. "It was a great result but we always believe we can beat any team as we showed again. We needed a few wins under our belt, which we now have so we can keep going and believing."
