Wycombe welcome Dunne return

Gareth Ainsworth says Charles Dunne has a place in the Wycombe starting line-up after the defender's trial spell with Blackpool.

The 20-year-old left-back was in the Chairboys squad that played Eastleigh on Tuesday night having featured as a trialist for Paul Ince's men in a friendly at Penrith on Saturday. And his manager is hoping Dunne gets the chance to develop with his League Two side after rumours of a bid from the Tangerines. "Charles went up to Blackpool for a couple of days' training," Ainsworth told the Bucks Free Press. "He's back with us. As long as Charles Dunne's a Wycombe player he's got my left-back slot. "It's between Blackpool and the club. I wouldn't like to get involved in any of that. While he's on the pitch it's good for the team. "He's growing, still got a lot to learn, but he's one we hope will go on to be a great player, and we hope he can be for us this season." Dunne was voted the club's most improved young player last season by supporters after impressing in his 42 appearances.
