Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth wants Josh Scowen to come back from his suspension revitalised for the rest of the campaign.
The midfielder picked up his 10th caution of the season on Tuesday night as the Chairboys lost 3-0 to Bradford and will now serve a two-match ban.
But while Ainsworth would prefer to have the 19-year-old available, he thinks a rest will do no harm.
"Obviously it's a blow but I'll put a positive spin on it, he'll have a 10-day break from games and come back fresh," said Ainsworth.
"He won't have to go through the rigours of games. He's been one of our pivotal performers in the run we've been on.
"It was always going to happen, now it's happened I know when he's going to be missing.
"I'll adjust the team accordingly for Saturday."
