Charlton have recalled striker Paul Hayes from his loan spell at Wycombe for the final eight games of the season.

The striker scored six goals in as many games during a prolific month-long stay at Adams Park, helping the Chairboys climb out of the League One relegation zone. But after showing such fine form, Charlton have recalled 28-year-old Hayes to boost their push for promotion. Powell, speaking earlier in the week to the club's official website, said: "It was always part of the thought process of mine to let him get some games and get him up to speed. "I always felt it was beneficial to him but also to us that I could call him back with a vital run-in and have a player who is up to speed, confident and scoring goals." Wycombe manager Gary Waddock told his club's official website: "We can't thank Hayesy enough for what's he done during his time with us. "He's been excellent but he's a Charlton player and I hope he goes on to win a championship medal with them. "It gives someone else an opportunity to come in and make an impact."
