Bloomfield boost for Chairboys

Wycombe midfielder Matt Bloomfield could return to training next week after a successful groin operation.

The 27-year-old went under the knife on Tuesday and is expected to be out of first-team contention for around three weeks. Bloomfield suffered an identical injury last season but was back playing within 18 days of surgery. And Blues boss Gary Waddock is hoping the player can make another quick recovery. "He had the operation on the opposite side and it is exactly the same injury," said Waddock. "That is what happens sometimes when you have one side done, the other side takes the strain and it weakens it. "He will probably train this time next week. I spoke to him directly after the operation and he was a lot happier this time and felt his recovery was better straight away."
