Jacobson apologises for Tweets

Accrington's Joe Jacobson has apologised to Oldham after his former club threatened legal action over his Twitter posts.

The defender joined Stanley on loan from the Latics in November before moving to the Crown Ground on a permanent deal on the final day of the January transfer window. He angered Oldham by tweeting that the Latics' players had not been paid this month. The League One club released a statement on their official website stating their intention to take legal action over Jacobson's comments and the 24-year-old full-back immediately removed the statement from Twitter. He has since posted on his Twitter account: "Apologies if people and the club took my comments in the wrong context." Oldham are now considering introducing a code of conduct for its staff regarding the use of social networking sites.
