Waddock offers trialist a further chance to impress

Wycombe manager Gary Waddock will give Marvin McCoy more time to earn a contract at Adams Park after the on-trial defender's impressive display against Hayes & Yeading. The former Arsenal and Watford youngster impressed in the 3-1 friendly win and Waddock was pleased with his all-round performance. But he is keen to assess the player's credentials against higher-level opposition and will include the 21-year-old in the squad for Tuesday's clash at Brentford. Waddock told the Buckinghamshire Examiner: "I just thought, in general, his game was good. "The opposition we have played have been good opposition but we have to judge him against players playing at League One or League Two standard and we have got a good game on Tuesday to judge that." Waddock must also make a decision over fellow trialists Netan Sansara, Mark Phillips and Matt Collins. He added: "A few of them will return but we are getting into games where you have to start playing players under contract to get their fitness up."
