Wycombe Wanderers defender Leon Johnson may face a further six weeks on the sidelines after undergoing a knee operation.
Johnson has not played a first-team game since early November after picking up a hip problem, but featured for 45 minutes for the reserves last week.
However, he damaged cartilage in his knee in training and Wycombe boss Gary Waddock has confirmed Johnson has had surgery on the injury.
"The doctors have said it may take up to six weeks, but we know Jonno is a good healer so we are hoping it might be as little as three or four," said Waddock.
"He is doing rehab already and we are looking forward to having him back in the squad because we need people like him around the team.
"However, we won't rush him back because then you can run the risk of making the problem worse, so we will monitor it closely."
Meanwhile, Ian Westlake is expected to be back in contention within the next month following an ankle operation and fellow midfielder Matt Bloomfield has resumed full training after a knee injury.
