Dagenham & Redbridge have rejected a bid from Wycombe for Ben Strevens, skysports.com understands.

Chairboys boss Peter Taylor has been trailing the 28-year-old for some time as he looks to bolster his attacking options.

Taylor is thought to have firmed up his interest in Strevens by tabling an official offer earlier this week, but his overtures have been rejected by Dagenham.

Wycombe are now believed to be targeting alternative targets as they aim to bring in a new forward before the close of the transfer window.

Strevens has shone at Dagenham this season in scoring 11 goals and they are loath to sell the former Barnet man.

Dagenham are keen to keep him as they battle for promotion to League One and are ready to resist all offers, even though the striker's current contract expires in the summer.
