WYCOMBE EYEING SWOOP ON WREXHAM

WYCOMBE WANDERERS are poised to bid for Wrexham striker Craig Faulconbridge after he rejected a new deal at the Racecourse Ground.

The 23-year-old rejected a three-year contract offer from the Red Dragons and was transfer listed by Wrexham boss Denis Smith as he looks to cash in on his want-away star.

The Second Division strugglers are looking for a fee of around £300,000 for Faulconbridge, who has scored 26 goals in just 77 starts for the club and netted nine times already this season.

The Chairboys have enjoyed a good season to date and moved up to fifth place in the table on Saturday with an emphatic 5-3 win against Brentford.

However, boss Lawrie Sanchez is keen to keep the momentum going and make the necessary changes to make Wanderers genuine promotion candidates.
