FA reject Donnelly appeal

Rochdale's appeal against striker George Donnelly's dismissal at Accrington last weekend has been rejected by the FA.

Donnelly was shown a straight red card in first-half injury time by referee Mark Brown last Saturday following his tackle on Accrington right-back Nicky Hunt as both players challenged for a loose ball. The former Fleetwood and Macclesfield forward will sit out a three-game ban and will miss league games against Wycombe and Portsmouth, plus the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with Port Vale. Donnelly has appeared in all but one of Dale's eight league games this season, scoring one goal.
