Rochdale striker Blair Sturrock is facing a month on the sidelines with a back injury.
Sturrock, who joined The Dale from Kidderminster Harriers during the summer, has damaged his hip flexor muscle and a scan has revealed that the injury is more serious than was initially thought.
"Blair's injury is taking longer than we hoped and it's looking like it's going to be a very slow process," club physio Andy Thorpe told the club's official website.
"The tear in his hip flexor muscle is a significant one and the scans showed considerable damage in the area.
"Thankfully the muscle is knitting back together but it will mean he may be out of action for a number of weeks."
Meanwhile, left back Tony Gallimore (pictured) is set for a spell of intensive physiotherapy in a bid to clear up a persistent knee problem.
