HOLLOWS INVITED FOR DALE TRIAL

THIRD DIVISION Rochdale have taken Sligo Rovers striker Matt Hollows on a weeks trial as Steve Parkins' quest for a new front-man continues.

Hollows is the son of former Rochdale player Paul Hollows and could be the answer to Dale's striker crisis.

Parkin (pictured) has been looking for extra firepower to ease the burden on Tony Ellis and Clive Platt, and may turn to Hollows after missing out on a number of targets.

The Rochdale boss tried to sign Richie Barker from Macclesfield, before he joined Rotherham, and has expressed his interest in Torquay's Tony Bedeau, Martin Carruthers of Southend and Stoke's Paul Connor.
