Baldwin set for lengthy lay-off

Peterborough defender Jack Baldwin faces at least 10 months on the sidelines due to a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The 21-year-old went off after 40 minutes of last Saturday's 2-1 home loss to Scunthorpe and further tests have confirmed fears that it is a serious problem. Posh manager Darren Ferguson said on the official club website: "It is a huge blow both for Jack and of course the football club and we will support him on his long road to recovery." Physiotherapist Chris Burton added: "Jack has torn his anterior cruciate ligament on his right knee. He will have a period of rehab now to settle the knee down and make sure he has a good range of movement. "He'll then have surgery and will be sidelined for 10-12 months until his returns to full fitness."
