Sky Sports understands a number of clubs in Leagues One and Two are keeping an eye on Daniel Kearns following his release by Peterborough United.
The midfielder has dropped into the free agent pool at the end of his contract at London Road, but he is not expected to be there for long.
The former West Ham United trainee may have struggled for game time at Peterborough after making a bright start in 2011, but he has shown in the last couple of seasons that he is more than capable of holding his own in Football League company.
A loan spell at Rotherham United in 2012/13 saw him help the Millers to finish as runners-up in League Two and step back up the ladder.
He then repeated the trick in 2013/14, with a productive stint at Chesterfield allowing him to taste fourth tier title glory.
His efforts have not gone unnoticed, with it possible that he could be offered the chance to complete a promotion hat-trick next term.
There are, however, sides in League One also contemplating an approach, which would offer the 22-year-old an opportunity to prove to Peterborough that they were wrong to let him go.
