Jones: More to come from Mclean

Bradford skipper Gary Jones feels Aaron McLean can come into his own after scoring his first goal for the club against Gillingham.

Former Hull forward McLean, signed as a replacement for Nahki Wells in January, had gone 10 games without scoring before firing Bradford into a first-half lead in the 1-1 home draw against Gillingham. Boss Phil Parkinson had expressed his concern at his striker's goal drought, but Jones thinks the 30-year-old can now flourish after finally breaking his City duck. "If you asked him yourself I think he'd say he wanted his first goal long before he got it, but the thing with Aaron is he works his socks off for the team," said Jones. "You just needed to look around the ground at the fans on Saturday, they were absolutely delighted for him. "It's one thing when a striker's not scoring, but the effort he puts into his game and the team - it was only a matter of time and he's got that goal now and it takes a lot of pressure off him. "The monkey is off his back and he can go again and score a lot of goals for us between now and the end of the season."
