Tonight's Sky Bet League One match between Sheffield United and Peterborough has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The torrential rain which has swept the country in recent days forced Football League referee Michael Naylor to inspect the Bramall Lane playing surface on Tuesday.
He highlighted 'four areas of concern' and called for a second inspection at 9.30am on the morning of the match.
The second check was carried out by Premier League referee Craig Pawson who took the decision to call the game off with the 'highlighted areas showing no signs of improving following overnight rainfall'.
Speaking to the club's website, Pawson said: "There are several areas of the pitch that are causing real concern.
"It is very heavy already and with the forecast for more rain we have to think about the safety of the players and officials. There is no way this game could start.
"There is standing water already and with the forecast in mind conditions are not going to improve."
