Defender Rowe poised for spell on sidelines

Peterborough United defender Tommy Rowe looks set to miss the start of the season after suffering a suspected fractured collarbone. The 23-year-old sustained the injury during the club's 6-0 friendly win at St Neots Town on Tuesday. The former Stockport County full-back will undergo a scan later this week to determine the extent of the injury. Posh boss Darren Ferguson is already expecting to be without Rowe for the club's opening fixtures of the new campaign, which begins with a Capital One Cup clash at home to Southend on August 14. "It's a shame for the lad as he's barely been injured since I've been here," said Ferguson. "We expect him to be back after the first international break [in September]."
