Sky Sports understands Fleetwood Town are closing in on the signing of Peterborough striker David Ball.
Cod Army boss Micky Mellon is a big admirer of Ball and is keen to lure him to Highbury.
Peterborough are thought to be willing to offload Ball as he is well down the pecking order at London Road.
The former Manchester City youngster had a spell on loan at Rochdale last season, scoring four goals during his spell at Spotland.
Fleetwood have already brought in Jon Parkin and Steven Gillespie this summer, but Mellon is also keen to add Ball to his attacking options as he looks to build a side capable of challenging for promotion.
