Posh boss preparing for Bennett exit

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson may have signed Shaun Brisley from Macclesfield but he is still on the look-out for another centre-back. The highly-rated Brisley, 21, will arrive at London Road on Thursday in an emergency loan until the end of the season ahead of a permanent move. But with England Under-21 star Ryan Bennett set to leave Peterborough at the end of February following his record sale to Norwich, Ferguson feels he still needs to bolster his defensive options. And the situation could come to a head soon with Gabby Zakuani facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a recurrence of the toe injury that plagued him during the first half of the season. Ferguson confirmed: "Shaun will be with us on Thursday, but it's a big ask for a young boy like him to come straight into the Championship. "I've said many times that perhaps we're looking for another centre-half with more experience when Ryan goes. "If Gabby is injured for a long time now it does give me a problem."
