Manager Martin Allen was satisfied after Notts County scrapped their way to a goalless draw against Preston at Meadow Lane.
In a League One game short on entertainment on Tuesday night, the Magpies had the better of what few chances there were, with Alan Sheehan, Ben Burgess and Lee Hughes going close in the second half. "It's a good point and a good clean sheet. We didn't play as well as we'd like but they were very difficult to break down," said Allen. "We've got to give them a bit of credit for that. Our keeper had to come for a few crosses but he hasn't had one save to make all game. "We weren't as sharp as we have been in previous games, but we played some excellent football in the first half." The draw means County have now gone five home games without a win and have only one victory in their last 13 games. However, they did record their first shut-out at home since October - something which Allen was pleased about. He added: "It's a clean sheet and we've not had many of them at home recently. They set themselves up with 10 at the back and one up front and it's hard breaking that down."
