Allen upbeat despite Posh loss

Notts County boss Martin Allen remained upbeat after his side lost 3-2 at home to Peterborough on Wednesday night.

Posh led midway through the half when Grant McCann fired home a free-kick and then Tommy Rowe finished well before George Boyd fired home from 25 yards. Darren Ferguson's men lost their fluency and conceded a goal at the far post to Craig Westcarr within minutes of the restart. Hamza Bencherif cut the deficit further midway through the second half but Notts could not force an equaliser. Allen told Magpie Player: "It was a good second-half performance and some of the younger players did well. "The boys found it hard in the first half and maybe the fact we've been at the army camp, maybe it needed a jolt from me at half-time, but they responded well in the second half."
