Peterborough United have confirmed the signing of Craig Alcock on a three-year deal from Yeovil Town.

Ferguson delighted to finally wrap up deal for versatile defender

Peterborough United have confirmed the signing of defender Craig Alcock on a three-year contract from Yeovil Town. Alcock has been a summer target for Posh boss Darren Ferguson, but a move to London Road appeared to have stalled earlier in the week. However, an undisclosed fee has now been agreed between the two clubs after Alcock's contract at Yeovil had expired. The 23-year-old will link up with his new team-mates at the club's training camp in Portugal and Ferguson is happy to have pushed through a deal. "We have been after Craig for a while, he is a very solid defender, had a good year at Yeovil last season and we are delighted to sign him," manager Darren Ferguson told the club's official website. "He is predominantly a right-back, but can play anywhere across the back four. He will get up and down, he is a fit lad and fits into what we are trying to achieve. "He has flown out to Portugal and will get four sessions with the team and because of the amount of spare time you get, it will be a great opportunity to get to know the rest of the lads."
