Posh defender willing to stick with club

Peterborough defender Gabriel Zakuani has agreed to stay at London Road - regardless of whether the club are relegated in May. The 23-year-old, who has yet to play this year due to injury, is under contract until 2012 after signing permanently from Fulham in 2008 and insists he wants to remain a part of the side even if Posh are in League One. "I'm not one to make a fuss or cause problems. I have a contract for two more seasons at the end of this one and I've always been treated well here," he said. "It's been a frustrating season for me and the team, but I'm back in full training with the squad now and it feels great." Despite United's position at the bottom of the Championship and ten points adrift of safety, the Congolese centre back still believes that his side have something to play for this season and that they can avoid relegation. "To be honest I am not thinking about next season yet because we still have a chance of avoiding relegation. It will be a tough task, but we will be trying as hard as we can and I want to play my part," he said. "But if we do go down I would want to be part of a team that can come straight back up again the following season."
