Port Vale midfielder Chris Lines has returned to former club Bristol Rovers on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old, who began his career with Rovers, has made 31 appearances for Vale this season but in recent months has had to settle for a place on the substitutes' bench. Vale manager Rob Page told the club's official website: "I've said all along that I won't stand in anyone's way who has a chance to go and play games. "Chris has been unfortunate in that he got suspended against MK Dons and, due to the form of Michael Brown and Michael O'Connor, has found it difficult to win his place back. "We're sure he will be a great asset to Bristol Rovers and will enjoy his time there."
