Bristol Rovers have signed striker Steven Gillespie on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
Manager John Ward has not hidden his desire to add a forward to his ranks after Ryan Brunt underwent a knee operation and a player who he worked with at both Colchester and Cheltenham fits the bill. Chairman Nick Higgs told the club's official website: "We are delighted that Steven has joined the club to add some much needed competition up front. "He is an experienced striker, with a good goal scoring record, which we hope he can replicate here." Gillespie, 28, was a free agent after being released by Fleetwood last week having made just 10 starts in 18 months.
