Ward delighted for Harrold

Bristol Rovers manager John Ward was delighted to see striker Matt Harrold score his first goal in seven months at Plainmoor.

The former Wycombe striker had been sidelined since September but returned to action as a substitute against the Gulls and grabbed a stoppage time equaliser to make it 3-3. "Right at the end the script was written, not by me but by Matt Harrold when he scores his goal after seven months out the game," he said. "When I mentioned his name on the subs bench he got a round of applause from the players and that tells you everything. He got his reward at the end. "So it was really exciting afternoon even though we can complain about the goals but it is English football and that is what happens. "The attitude was spot-on because we let ourselves down last week in our final home game but we stood our ground. "I have got a fair bit of work to do over the next couple of weeks and we will be ready to go again next season."
