Bristol Rovers assistant manager Shaun North will be leaving the Memorial Ground, the club have announced.

The former Torquay man has been told that his contract will not be renewed and he can depart the League Two side with immediate effect. Manager John Ward would like to bring in a new face to fill the role, held by North since 2011 when he assisted Paul Buckle, before the start of pre-season training. "I would like to thank Shaun for his help and support over the last four months," Ward told the club's official website. "However, I felt the club need to go in a different direction off the pitch, and I am hoping to introduce a new face for the start of pre season." Rovers coach Marcus Stewart will step up to take on the assistant manager's job for Saturday's trip to Torquay.
