McGhee shocked at away defeat

Bristol Rovers boss Mark McGhee believes his side failed to carry out his instructions at Wycombe as the home side won 2-0.

Chairboys manager Gareth Ainsworth brought himself on in Saturday's League Two clash at Adams Park and nodded home the second after Joel Grant's fine opening goal to leave McGhee shocked at how the game turned out. "I came here with no doubt as to what the result would be," he said. "I was very, very optimistic. "But it misfired and misfired apart from the first ten minutes of the second half when we should have scored but didn't and they broke away and got the goal on the counter attack. "I've had a look at myself and the preparation we've done and the information we've given the players about our shape and as far as I'm concerned we did the preparation we gave them the information and we weren't able to carry it out on the pitch so that was very disappointing. "I know the supporters were saying that was embarrassing but I wouldn't go that far."
