Mixed emotions for McGhee

Bristol Rovers boss Mark McGhee was scathing of his side's defending after the 2-2 draw against Aldershot on Saturday.

David Clarkson's classic strike, his first goal since moving from neighbours Bristol City in the summer, was cancelled out by Craig Reid. Alex Rodman then lashed the Shots in front after 57 minutes before the hosts grabbed a late leveller courtesy of substitute Fabian Broghammer. "We have a lot of work to do because we are still conceding bad goals," McGhee said. "A long ball has caught us out for the first and, while it was brilliantly taken, the lad should never have got between our defenders. "The positives are that we scored at home, which we had failed to do in three previous attempts. "I'm pleased for David Clarkson because I think he has done really well since joining us. The way he celebrated his goal showed what it meant to him."
