Crawley, Gillingham and Torquay hope for Rotherham slip-up
Rotherham United will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent record in League Two on Saturday afternoon, while three of the sides immediately below them will be praying otherwise.
Andy Scott's side defeated Oxford United 1-0 at home in their opening game of the season in the first week of August and, despite losing 4-1 to Leicester City in the Carling Cup, they have since won against Plymouth Argyle and Crewe Alexandra.
The Millers' opponents,
Barnet, are languishing in mid-table after the opening three rounds, having picked up four points. However, they have won their last two competitive away fixtures and could well spring a surprise at the Don Valley Stadium.
A slip-up from Rotherham would be hugely welcomed by Crawley Town, Gillingham and Torquay United - all three sides have picked up seven points each.
Crawley and
Torquay face each other at Plainmoor in a mouth-watering clash. The away team have won their last two league encounters and are coming off the back of a 3-0 home defeat of Southend United on Tuesday.
Martin Ling's side too have emerged victorious in their last two league clashes, both away, including 1-0 win against Aldershot Town in midweek.
Gillingham, who drew 2-2 with Barnet on Tuesday, welcome
Plymouth to Priestfield.
Clustered table
AFC Wimbledon are among a total of five clubs on six points in the league standings and will aim to get closer to the top with a victory over
Hereford United, who are at the foot of the table and are yet to collect a point this campaign.
Morecambe, also on six points from three matches, take on
Aldershot, while
Bristol Rovers are at
Macclesfield Town.
Dagenham & Redbridge and
Southend both will be hoping for slip-ups from Morecambe and Rovers and rise up the table. The former are away at
Bradford City, who have just one point from three matches, while the latter host
Burton Albion.
At the other end of the table, there is an interesting match-up waiting on Saturday.
Crewe, who are second from bottom and have yet to secure a point this season, are at
Shrewsbury Town in 20th place and with two points from three games.
In two other matches on Saturday,
Port Vale and
Accrington Stanley confront each other at Vale Park and
Northampton Town entertain
Cheltenham Town.
There is just one match on Sunday in the division as
Swindon Town and
Oxford lock horns at the Country Ground with just one point separating the two teams.
