Well boss hoping to extend striker's stay

Motherwell manager Craig Brown has confirmed his interest in extending Alan Gow's contract at the club. Gow, who scored the winner in their Co-operative Insurance Cup victory over Dundee United, is contracted until mid-January. Brown is pleased with the striker's displays and hopes to keep him on, enabling him to feature in the semi-finals of the competition. Well's boss does not believe terms will be a problem providing the ex-Hibs and Plymouth marksman providing he makes reasonable demands.

Hopes

"If his request is normal and reasonable, we hope we'll be able to sign him," said the former Scotland boss. "I think he likes it here and is comfortable. But he's in the shop window. "At the end of his contract in January he might get offers from elsewhere. If Arsenal come in or Manchester City, we could struggle."
