Defender Danny Woodards has agreed a two-year deal with MK Dons after rejecting the offer a new contract with Crewe.
The right-back, who can also operate in a holding midfield role, has elected to remain in League One with Roberto Di Matteo's side.
Woodards had previously admitted he was looking to leave Gresty Road following Crewe's relegation to League Two.
He made 94 appearances for the club after joining the Railwaymen from Exeter for a nominal fee in January 2007.
Woodards has already set his sights on helping the Dons push for promotion after Di Matteo's men were only denied in the play-offs by eventual winners Scunthorpe last term.
Realistic
Woodards told the club's
official website: "I'm excited to be joining the club and I'm relishing the chance to help the team win promotion to the Championship and I'm looking forward to meeting all the lads.
"I definitely think promotion is a realistic ambition - personally, I thought the team should've done it last season but if everyone's still got the belief and the hunger for it then it should be easy.
"It's a nice stadium, I've seen the fans here and they're a good crowd, they seem to be behind the team and that helps.
"I spoke to a few people before signing with the club and they all just said good things - I want to be a part of that and everything seems right."
