STOCKPORT COUNTY are facing serious goalkeeping problems as Pegguy Arphexad has returned to Anfield after injuring himself during his debut.

The French shot-stopper has pulled a muscle in his back, prompting a premature return to Merseyside in order that he can receive treatment from the club physio.

Meanwhile, first-choice keeper Lee Jones is still struggling to recover from an elbow injury which he sustained against Bradford.

"I came for a punch at Valley Parade during the second half and although I made the ball I took a knock on my elbow," he explained to the club's official website.

"The following morning it had swollen up and was very painful and I still can't move it fully."
