Shrewsbury defender Mickey Demetriou has received the green light to return to training after being taken to hospital last week.

The 24-year-old needed oxygen and was stretchered off in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Tranmere after colliding with Kayode Odejayi Demetriou was checked out but is set to be available for the weekend's League Two visit of Northampton. "Demetriou should be okay which is very good news," Shrews boss Micky Mellon told the Shropshire Star. "We sent the physio (Chris Skitt) to the hospital to see him after the game. He needed a few scans but he was able to go home that night. "He couldn't train Monday or Tuesday because you have to take precautions and it's important we looked after his health. "But he is happy to return to training on Thursday and we are glad to have him back."
