Adam Reach's winner sealed a 1-0 win for Shrewsbury over Notts County and brought a smile to the face of boss Graham Turner.
Reach's decisive 73rd-minute goal, drilled home from 15 yards after Gozie Ugwu had headed down a Ryan Woods cross, came at the end of a week which saw Turner reach the milestone of 35 years as a football manager.
"To finish the week with the three points and a massively important three points for us has been a pleasant afternoon," Town boss Turner said.
"It was a bit heart-stopping late on with one or two things in and around our penalty area but I felt we should have had the game sewn up before that."
The quality of the winner from on-loan Middlesbrough winger Reach delighted Turner as the 20-year-old grabbed his second goal in a Shrewsbury shirt.
"It was a good goal," he said. "It was a nice lay off from Goz and a very good finish. He just kept his head.
"Adam has had one or two good opportunities and he can tend to get a bit excited in front of goal and slash at things, but he kept his head extremely well."
