Shrewsbury Town have agreed a deal to sign versatile forward Paul Parry from League One rivals Preston.

The out-of-contract 31-year-old failed to agree a new terms with North End and has opted to link up with Shrews, who will be aiming to preserve their third-tier status next season following promotion. Parry, formerly of Hereford - where he played under Shrews boss Graham Turner - and Cardiff, spent three years with Preston and made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring four goals. His move to the Greenhous Meadow completes a flurry of transfer activity between Shrewsbury and Preston this summer, with Shane Cansdell-Sherriff and Nicky Wroe both rejecting new deals with Shrews in May to make the move to Lancashire.
