Shrewsbury's Jon Taylor has turned down the club's new contract offer, prompting emergency talks with boss Graham Turner.

Taylor, 18, joined the club as a trainee two years ago and made a total of 22 appearances last season, scoring six goals, included two in his first start against Burton in February. Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire: "We have been told verbally he won't accept it. Whether we can conclude a deal later in the day remains to be seen. "Discussions are ongoing. I would have liked to have got it tied up. "When they reach the conclusion that Manchester United and Arsenal aren't going to sign them then they come back and start talks."
