Prutton and Ifil offered new deals

Colchester United have offered new contracts to David Prutton and Phil Ifill. Prutton joined on a short-term deal in January from Leeds and he became a regular in the Us side under boss Aidy Boothroyd. Ifil was given a chance to impress by Boothroyd and he too made an impact. Both have now been given the chance to extend their stays in Essex. "We have made contract offers to Phil and David and I would like to keep them at the club," Boothroyd told the club's official website. "There is also an offer on the table for Marc Tierney, and discussions carry on with him, but he has a year left on his current deal and we have time to discuss things with him." The club have also confirmed that Scott Vernon, Matt Lockwood, Sam Corcoran and Russell Malton have all been freed.
