Pearson delighted to reach agreement to sign keeper

Leicester City have agreed a deal to sign Bristol City goalkeeper Chris Weale on a free transfer. Weale has signed a pre-contract agreement with the League One champions to join the Foxes when his Robins contract expires in the summer. He had also been interesting former club Yeovil Town, where he finished the season on loan after struggling for opportunities at Ashton Gate. Foxes boss Nigel Pearson had been on Weale's trail for some time and is happy to have brought the keeper to the Walkers Stadium. "Chris is a player who we have monitored and has been on our wish list for quite a while now," Pearson told the club's official website. "He has had limited opportunities at Bristol City and following a successful loan period at Yeovil Town we are delighted to secure his services. "Chris is desperate to succeed here at Leicester and we believe he has the ability and the mental strength to do just that." Leicester had largely relied on loan goalkeepers during the past season, with Mark Bunn, David Martin, David Stockdale and Tony Warner all having temporary spells at the club.
