Shrewsbury Town starlet Kelvin Langmead has penned a new contract.
The highly-rated centre-forward or centre-half has signed on until 2009.
"Kelvin has signed a new two-and-a-half year contract and I think that's a good move for the club and for Kelvin," said Town boss Gary Peters.
"People might not have known a lot about Kelvin when he came here but he wasn't unknown to me.
"He came in as a centre-forward and is playing centre-back now but can still play centre-forward and that shows how valuable he is.
"He's gradually getting used to the job that he's doing but we don't want to pile too much onto him at once, he needs to get a few more months of football under his belt and get used to the position.
"I can then start to add the subtleties to his position, though there aren't many subtleties about being a centre-half but he can add a few."
