Shrewsbury Town have taken Bristol Rovers goalkeeper Scott Shearer on a three-month loan.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper joined Rovers from Coventry City last summer, but has been second choice to new signing Stephen Phillips for much of the new season.
Phillips' arrival and his recent recovery from a toe injury mean that he should now return to the starting line-up for the trip to Wrexham on Saturday.
The Pirates have installed a clause into the contract, which will allow Shearer to return from Gay Meadow in the event of an emergency.
But young shot-stopper Mike Green has also been recalled from non-league side Mangotsfield United as cover.
