Bury are hoping to fix up a permanent deal for on-loan Shrewsbury Town striker Glynn Hurst.
The experienced forward is out of the first-team picture at Shrewsbury and linked up with League Two rivals Bury last month.
He has impressed at Gigg Lane, scoring three goals in three appearances, and Shakers boss Chris Casper wants to keep Hurst at the club.
"We are trying hard to sort something out," Casper told the club's official website.
"Glynn wants to come here and I want him in my squad, but there are still a few things to finalise.
"I may have to shift a few things around and hopefully I should be able to do that."
Hurst revealed last week that he wanted crunch talks with Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters to learn if he had a future at Gay Meadow and it appears he has been told he can move on permanently.
