Shrewsbury Town striker Glynn Hurst is expected to seal a loan switch to Bury on Thursday.
Hurst is currently well down Gary Peters' pecking order, behind the likes of Andy Cooke and Derek Asamoah.
The Shrews are keen for him to secure first-team football and have agreed to let him join The Shakers on a month's loan.
"Glynn Hurst is going to go on loan to bury for a month," Peters told the club's official website.
"It's a difficult decision to make but Glynn needs to be playing first team football.
"We've played him in the last four or five reserve games so his match fitness at reserve level is up as far as we can get it.
"Bury have asked if they can take Glynn on loan, he needs to be playing first team football so we've agreed to loan him."
