Shrewsbury Town have signed striker Richard Logan on a month's loan from League One side Peterborough United.

The 22-year-old joins the Shropshire-based club in a bid to regain his match fitness after being abruptly sidelined by a fractured jaw.

The former Ipswich Town and Boston United marksman was hurt in a bizarre accident when he fell awkwardly in the club's medical room, managing to break his jaw in two places back in July.

Logan looks to have overcome the jaw fracture to be fit for action and Shrews boss Jimmy Quinn (pictured) was pleased to have the opportunity to sign a fresh face for his Gay Meadow squad.

"Richard's coming in to give more options up front, as we're a bit short there at the moment," Quinn told the club's official website.

"He's a tall, quick lad who's scored goals whenever he's played and he'll be a good addition to the squad.

"He'll join training with the lads and that then gives me more options for the trip to Boston."
