Tilson's top targets too pricey

Lincoln boss Steve Tilson has conceded a lack of funds could see him miss out on his top transfer targets this summer.

Tilson is planning for life in the Blue Square Bet Premier but revealed he is not yet close to making a breakthrough in his recruitment drive. City's budget will be reduced next season and Tilson still has six transfer-listed players on his books that he is aiming to offload. "Nothing has really happened yet. I have spoken to agents and I have had conversations with players," Tilson told the Lincolnshire Echo. "We are probably going to have to be signing a few players closer to the end of pre-season. "Obviously, with the budget being cut, I can't spend a lot of money and I can't go out and get the players I would like to bring in. I could make offers to them and say 'come and sign for this amount', but I don't think they would. "It is a case of being patient and seeing what comes up and we will be looking up and down the pyramid for players. There will always be six or eight teams throwing money around, but we won't be doing that."
