Lincoln City will bide their time before entering the transfer market, according to chairman Bob Dorrian.
Manager Steve Tilson is operating with a budget reduced by £80,000 on last summer following relegation to the Blue Square Bet Premier, and the Imps boss will be further hindered if he cannot clear six transfer-listed players from the Sincil Bank books to help meet his target of an 18-man squad. Nevertheless, Dorrian revealed in the Lincolnshire Echo that the groundwork for close-season recruitment is already underway. "From my conversations with Steve, he is busy talking to lots of agents," he said. "He has been told that there will be an awful lot of players looking for clubs and I think he is going to play a waiting game. Nothing is imminent. "It is not all about money and that does not necessarily bring you success. "In Bradford City's case, they had a budget of £1.9million last season and finished fourth bottom in League Two, so money does not mean that much, apart from probably guaranteeing safety."
