Peterborough boss Barry Fry admits he is keen on bringing Lincoln's Ben Futcher to London Road.

The giant 24-year-old defender is out of contract in the summer and as yet, talks have yet to commence on a new deal at Sincil Bank.

Fry is a long-term admirer of the former Oldham stopper and concedes that he has already spoken to the player's representative.

The Posh chief has previously failed in a £100,000 bid to land the accomplished defender but is now to step-up his interest in the summer.

''I've been interested in Futcher for a while,'' confirmed Fry.

''I have previously bid £100,000 for him so obviously I'll be interested in him now he's available on a free transfer.

''I've spoken to his agent but I imagine they'll be more than just us interested in him because he's a quality player.''
